Did you think about saying goodbye? Why fire the founder!

Are you currently supporting or complicating the growth of your company?

Did you think about saying goodbye? Why fire the founder!

Why I encourage founders to plan to “say goodbye” to himself themselves from an early stage, professionalizing the company?

- To leave a legacy through other people.

- Because being “irreplaceable” does not encourage leadership within your company it destroys the business —and entire families— when it's time to retire.

- Because it allows you to dedicate your time to another initiative linked to your purpose, taking advantage of your innovation experience, while the company continues to grow without your presence.

- Because often, those who create large companies lack the experience to scale them after having created them. In this, corporate experience is definitely an advantage.

  • Because even if they have the necessary knowledge and skills, the emotional connection to your company and the fact that they are always projecting much further than their team, can cause them to act impatiently —with the habit of exciting pivots of the past— and confuse or alienate their employees, causing them to lose motivation.

I share a video about it.

What do you think about it? Did you go through this situation? If you are entrepreneurs, do you consider it for the future? Are they training people and professionalizing the company by scaling? What difficulties do you face?

I hope it added value! I await your comments. Thank you! Big hug,

Francisco Santolo
